The Impact of the Gender Pay Gap

We can no longer afford to tolerate an employment system still filled with significant amounts of inequity. The irony is, a system of unequal pay distribution favoring certain employees eventually costs more in long run due to increased turnover of good employees, additional learning curves for their replacements, and a work environment less productive because it is not built on trust.

Not every employee deserves to be paid the same rate, but we must rid ourselves of this double-digit gap between a man’s pay and a woman’s, and particularly when skills, experience, and tenure are all comparable. Here’s a personal story on gender pay inequality that I will share – one that admittedly did not feel good because somebody I know and loved was affected.
